Area Code Alumni Spotlight: Week 2 NCAA Standouts
A closer look at Area Code alumni who are excelling at the highest level of amateur baseball.
Many Area Code alumni are stepping into major roles and putting up big numbers in college baseball. From projected first-rounders to breakout freshmen, here’s a look at several Area Code alumni making early noise this season.
Roch Cholowsky, SS | UCLA
Area Code Team: 2021-2022 Reds & AC Select West
Cholowsky looked every bit like the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft during the first full week of the season. He set the tone early with a 3-for-4 performance that included two home runs and a double, and carried that momentum through the weekend, finishing the stretch 7-for-16 with five home runs and 10 RBI.
Against TCU, he went 4-for-12 with three home runs and seven RBI, helping power UCLA to a sweep. He is tied for first nationally in home runs alongside UCLA teammate Will Gasparino. His barrel accuracy, strength, and advanced feel for the strike zone continue to separate him at the highest level of college baseball.
Justin Lebron, SS | Alabama
Area Code Team: 2023 AC Select East
Across three seasons, Lebron has produced a .324/.428/.606 slash line with 35 home runs and 118 RBI. He has maintained an OPS north of 1.000 for his career and is averaging nearly a home run every 13.5 at-bats, reinforcing his standing as one of the most productive hitters in college baseball.
That track record continues to support his place among the top prospects in the 2026 draft class. This past weekend, he slashed .333/.467/1.083 with three home runs. The athletic shortstop moves well on both sides of the ball, and the combination of sustained production and upside gives him one of the highest ceilings in the college game.
Will Gasparino, CF | UCLA
Area Code Team: 2021 & 2022 Brewers
Gasparino wasted no time finding his rhythm in Westwood. The Texas transfer erupted in Week 2, going 7-for-13 with five home runs, a double, and 13 RBIs in one of the most explosive stretches in the country.
The offseason adjustments to his setup and swing have paid immediate dividends, as his improvements in-approach have translated in-game.
Camden Kozeal, 2B | Arkansas
Area Code Team: 2022 White Sox
Kozeal had one of the most productive weeks in the country and was named to Baseball America’s National College Team of the Week following Arkansas’ weekend sweep of Xavier. The Razorback second baseman slashed .538/.571/1.231 across the three-game set, collecting seven hits, including a double, a triple, and two home runs, while driving in a team-high seven RBI at Baum-Walker Stadium.
In Game 2, Kozeal hit for the cycle, becoming just the third Razorback in the Dave Van Horn era to accomplish the feat and the first since 2022. Arkansas is 6-1 on the year.
Dylan Dubovik, LF | Miami
Area Code Team: 2024 AC Select East
Dubovik was named ACC Player of the Week after a dominant four-game stretch.. In Miami’s four-game sweep of Lafayette, the freshman outfielder hit .818 (9-for-11) with three home runs, two doubles, nine RBI, six runs scored, and two stolen bases, totaling 20 bases and posting a 1.818 slugging percentage. He helped power a Hurricanes offense that erupted for 70 runs over the weekend.
Through his first six games, Dubovik is 11-for-13 with three doubles, three home runs, and no strikeouts. The combination of bat speed, strength, and consistent hard contact has fueled one of the most impressive starts by a freshman in the country.
Linkin Garcia, SS | Texas Tech
Area Code Team: 2022 Brewers & 2024 AC Select East
Garcia has quickly emerged as one of the most impactful freshmen in the country. The Texas Tech infielder earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors after a dominant five-game stretch in which he hit .429 (9-for-21) with three home runs, 11 runs scored, and 13 RBIs. He was at the center of an offensive surge that saw the Red Raiders score 70 runs during a five-game winning streak.
His breakout moment came against UTRGV, where he hit two home runs to spark a comeback win.
Daniel Cuvet, 3B | Miami
Area Code Team: 2022 Nationals & 2023 AC Select East
Cuvet has opened the season swinging with conviction, and the numbers reflect just that. Over the week, the Miami 3B went 7-for-21 with four home runs, two doubles, 11 RBI, and six walks, coming up big in key moments. He delivered one of the defining swings of the week as well, launching a game-tying home run in the bottom of the 10th against UCF in what turned into a 13-inning Hurricane victory. Power has always been his best tool, but his improvements in his approach are clearly evident already. Miami moves to 9-0 on the year.
